Battle of the Brews
Beer lovers, take note: On April 8, 2017, the annual Battle of the Brews is set to take over the Grace Pavilion at the Sonoma County Fair Grounds. Indulge at The Craft Cup micro-brewery competition, The Sonoma County Sandwich Showdown, and of course, The People’s Choice Main Event. What’s more, you can cheers to a good cause, because all proceeds go directly to helping children in need in Sonoma County.
David Love Memorial Races
The David Love Memorial Races at Sonoma Raceway mark the beginning of the season for CSRG Racing, a vintage racing organization in Northern California. This unique event will be held April 1 – 2, 2017 and feature eight races, including production car groups, open wheel groups, and sports racer groups. Imagine: Over 300 classic cars from Jaguar, Ferrari, Porsche, and more. The open paddock format encourages spectators to take a closer look at the lineup of vintage automobiles.
Sonoma International Film Festival
Cinephiles will adore the intimate atmosphere at the Sonoma International Film Festival. Now in its 20th year, this annual festival promotes independent cinema and celebrates cultural diversity in Sonoma Valley. From March 29 – April 2, 2017 this event will showcase feature-length films, documentaries, animated shorts, and more. A pass affords you access to all films and panels.
California Artisan Cheese Festival
Artisan cheeses take center stage at this three-day event in Petaluma, CA. The California Artisan Cheese Festival will offer farm tours, cheese-making classes, an “Ultimate Best Bite” competition, and naturally, plenty of cheeses to taste and buy. World-class wines, craft beers, and other treats will also be available at the Artisan Cheese Tasting and Marketplace, open from March 24 – 26, 2017.
Sonoma County Outdoor Expo
From March 31 – April 2, 2017 the Sonoma County Outdoor Expo at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds will display products and services from over 30 industry exhibitors. Products include outdoor apparel, hunting accessories, footwear, camping gear, fishing tackle and accessories, and more.
Sonoma County Home & Garden Show
Find everything you need for a complete home makeover at the Sonoma County Home & Garden Show. Hosted at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds from March 17 – 19, 2017, this one-stop shop will feature vendors for kitchen and bathroom remodeling, as well as expert landscapers and other professionals specializing in home improvement needs.
The Barlow 10K IPA Marathon
Drink brews and burn calories at The Barlow 10K IPA Marathon on Saturday April 15, 2017. The 10K race will begin with a Runner’s Beer Toast and end with a lively Beer & Music Festival. Meanwhile, elite runners can turn the drinking up a notch with the Beer Mile Invitational—that’s a beer chugged every quarter mile. Participants can also check out the Friday night festivities, including a marketplace and welcome reception.
Annadel Half Marathon
The Annadel Half Marathon on April 8, 2017 is touted as one of the area’s biggest races. This non-profit, fundraising event aims to revitalize Annadel State Park, located in northern Sonoma Valley. Runners can also opt to participate in the 5K race, which will be donating funds to rebuild the trails at Taylor Mountain Regional Park.
Art is… Santa Rosa
Art is You Mixed Media Art Retreats will bring over 50 workshops to Santa Rosa during this five-day event, taking place April 4 – 9, 2017. Spark creativity and experiment with a wide range of art mediums, from painting and stenciling to book binding and beading. Attend a Morning Motivators session for extra inspiration.
Santa Rosa Earth Day Festival
Celebrate Mother Nature on April 22, 2017 at the 8th Annual Santa Rosa Earth Day Festival. This family-friendly event will be packed with activities, live performances, and exhibits that promote environmental awareness. Local beer, wine, and other refreshments will also be available.
