Stay and Play

Capture the magic of the season

Stay and play at The Sandman this winter! Capture the magic of the season by taking a break to bond with your kids. Our family suite sleeps two adults and three children, and includes a set of bunk beds and a bunch of board games. The spacious room is just a hop, a skip, and a jump from our bocce ball court and fire pits where you can enjoy an evening stargazing and roasting marshmallows. S’mores kits are available for purchase in the lobby.

Entertain your brood with a trip to one of Santa Rosa’s popular family friendly destinations. The 138-acre Howarth Park has hiking trails, a playground, a miniature train, a carousel, an animal farm, and pony rides to keep youngsters occupied. It is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset.

Bundle up and get your skate on at Snoopy’s Home Ice. The public rink is home to the Warm Puppy Cafe that sells refreshments and Snoopy’s Gallery and Gift Shop where you can peruse Peanuts memorabilia. Next door, check out Charles M. Schulz Museum’s exhibit, Abracadabra: Magic in Peanuts. It explores the late cartoonist’s love of magic. Roll over to Epicenter to dominate the pins bowling or engage in a laser tag battle. The 20,000 square foot Game On Arcade has something for everyone including video games, an XD experience, and play structures.

Old-fashioned paper crafts and activities are now provided at The Sandman. An I Spy scavenger hunt serves as a guide for kids to discover different items on the hotel’s property. A twist on the traditional tic-tac-toe, our version integrates Ty Williams’ whimsical illustrations of sleepy moons and rays of sunshine. Our fold-and-fill-out fortune teller allows each child to get creative with their customization. To add a bit of wonder to the bedtime routine, we offer dream cards inscribed with good night wishes.
